Global Microfinance Case Competition

About GMCC

The Global Microfinance Case Competition (GMCC) is the flagship annual case competition organised by the Melbourne Microfinance Initiative. Since its inception in 2011, GMCC has grown into the world's largest microfinance case competition, bringing together students from leading universities across Australia and around the world to develop solutions for real microfinance institutions and social enterprises.

GMCC provides participants with the opportunity to apply their analytical and strategic thinking to real-world challenges in financial inclusion and social impact. Unlike traditional case competitions, every case is based on a live MMI client, meaning participants' recommendations have the potential to influence organisations creating meaningful change in underserved communities. Through this unique experience, students develop practical consulting skills while contributing to sustainable social impact.
