This semester had been a turbulent one, but that did not stop us at MMI from hosting our first (virtual) flagship event of 2020 – Careers in Social Impact Webinar! The first of its kind at MMI, broadcasted on a zoom call on April 9th and hosted by Jade Vergara, with a prestigious panel featuring Soraya Dean from NAB, Hedda Ngan from Ygap and Tanya Hodgson from Bain & Company. All three panellists are respected professionals within the social impact sphere and provided meaningful insight during the webinar on topics such as how to build towards a rewarding career and deconstructing what it meant to make an impact. It was a great opportunity for many aspiring and ambitious students from all faculties to uncover a broad spectrum of professional opportunities available in the Social Impact space, beyond volunteering and fundraising.

With a turnout of over 100 participants, discussions raised by audience members with the panellists were meaningful, delving into the many ways that students just like yourself can get involved in events, initiatives and careers that leave a lasting impact!

If you’re currently regretting that you did not the CISI webinar or simply want to learn even more (as you should), then check out our Careers in Social Impact Interview Series! An interview series of renowned professionals who are proactively making a difference. The link can be found here: https://www.melbournemicrofinance.com/cisi-interview-series
