Careers in Social Impact (CISI) 2023

MMI returns with our flagship event, Careers in Social Impact! CISI’s purpose is to celebrate the numerous ways in which meaningful social impact can be achieved through a professional career. The first portion of the event featured four well-versed pannelists from diverse backgrounds who shared their professional and personal insights. The second half of the night was a networking opportunity that provided attendees from sixteen partner companies!

We were so honoured to have our four amazing panellists join us for CISI:

  • Professor Rosemary Addis: Founding Managing Partner of Mondiale Impact

  • Aaron Richards: Senior Associate at Right Lane Consulting

  • Joey Moshinsky: Co-Founder of Tutero

  • Jack Dalrymple: Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company

The panel discussion highlighted an important lesson about social impact, which was the significance of understanding and defining what it means to you personally. The panellists emphasised that social impact can be achieved in a multitude of ways, and how essential it is to recognise that each individual’s journey may differ, but as long as you are pursuing your passions with dedication, you CAN make an impact!

The breadth of knowledge and information provided was unmatched, and truly inspired the audience! It was also very exciting to have our alumni back in the hallowed halls of the University of Melbourne, and meeting aspiring students, who were once just like them!

MMI is also very thankful for our CISI partners who joined for the networking portion of the event. Our attendees were extremely enthusiastic to have an opportunity to connect and learn from industry professionals. The sixteen partners for CISI in 2023 included: Bain & Company, Startmate, McKinsey & Company, SGS Economics & Planning, NAB, Social Ventures Australia (SVA), Tutero, CSIRO, AustralianSuper, Inaam, Right Lane Consulting, EY, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), Deloitte Access Economics, Mondiale Impact and Alta!

MMI’s ultimate goal with CISI is to encourage and empower students to recognise the multitude of opportunities available within their respective fields of study to create meaningful social impact through their careers. Thank you to all panellists, partners, and attendees for joining us at MMI’s flagship event, Careers in Social Impact, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
