Events & Workshops
We host a diverse portfolio of events each year, here’s a selection of the events we generally run year on year. To check out our events for the upcoming year, click here.
Access to consulting
We’ve held our Access to Consulting (A2C) events since 2014. While we’ve organised it with conjunction with a range of partners including World Vision, SPP Consulting, Boston Consulting Group and more, our primary sponsor for this event remains A.T. Kearney. Our A2C with Kearney is a selective event where students are introduced to consulting, formulate solutions to a former Kearney social impact case in teams mentored by Kearney consultants, after which they present their solutions back to consultants and receive immediate, verbal feedback.
Careers in social impact
Careers in Social Impact (CISI or Careers) is our flagship event for Semester 1. It is a panel event that has been running since its inauguration in 2015, which features four to five interesting and thought-provoking speakers that share their impact-driven career journeys. Whether they were intentional in their decisions or simply stumbled into their latest gig, Careers represents a curated set of speakers that we believe speaks to the confusing University and career-seeking landscape we are all trying to navigate. We also invite representatives from impact-oriented enterprises and firms to showcase and discuss their work with our members.
global microfinance case competition
Since its inception in 2013, the Global Microfinance Case Competition (GMCC) has expanded to become an international case competition held in partnership with six different universities. Students work in teams over the course of a week to consult on a live case, which is a current problem that one of our clients is facing. With feedback from our industry judges, the finalist from each campus is flown to Melbourne to compete in the international grand final for cash prizes and a guaranteed, final round interview for A.T. Kearney’s Summer Internship Program. In the past, our clients have requested to work with our winners to discuss and implement their solutions. It remains our flagship event for Semester 2.
